Collect data and gather information, and supports the production of the engineering design concept philosophy.

Perform technical, cost savings and constructability design reviews of the conceptual designs and propose the best suitable layout solution considering room layouts, power cable routing, means of access and maintenance.

Provide input to the project Design Basis, set up Design Criteria, Room matrix and generate concept notes/philosophies for HV equipment exposure, manning, access & egress, safety, fire safety & firefighting, mechanical handling, layout, corrosion protection, transport & installation. Generate technical specifications, bills of materials and weight estimates.

You will be responsible for the interpretation of customer specifications, developing design proposal of the functional layout and the supporting steel structure and supporting the CAD 3D model and drawing preparation.

As engineer you will attend and provide input to different meetings (technical, pre-bid meeting, safety & risk) to discuss, analyze and optimize the substation design.

The role would therefore ideally suit a Design Engineer with a solid professional understanding of energy structures and civil/structural works.
