Our services include providing equipment and material procurement in all aspects of execution including requirement identification, planning, prospect development, negotiation, commercial and technical evaluation as well as order follow up and expediting.

KCI has been awarded multiple patents over the years. The R&D department is an active and dynamic part of the KCI organisation that is involved in projects and in developing innovative technologies.

To achieve the desired results, all our activities are pre-planned and actions are taken as a corrective measure prompted by the monitoring process where necessary. Our effective Project Services process consists of various activities, such as:

We closely monitor the people, processes and tools to plan, manage and mitigate cost and schedule issues and any risk events that may impact a project. We work with the best tools available on the market to make sure that all our projects are under proper control. The integrated Project Services system is being built consisting of the following segments:

  • EcoSys for Earned Value Analysis & Management, Cost Engineering & Estimating, Change Management & Controls

Procurement

KCI Procurement has supported projects both in the Oil & Gas as Renewables market. Our services include providing equipment and material procurement in all aspects of execution including requirement identification, planning, prospect development, negotiation, commercial and technical evaluation as well as order follow up and expediting. We actively evaluate market potentials to supply manufactured goods associated to our businesses on a high quality, reliable and transparent basis.   
Our vast experience in supplying materials for onshore and offshore projects has allowed us to overcome the challenges at various stages of the project life cycle.

The following activities are performed as part of our procurement services:

  • Early involvement in the project by review of the project specifications and standards, client/project requirements and project planning
  • Preparation of the Procurement Plan, Definition of the Long-Lead Items (LLI) to meet the planning and preparation of the procurement execution plan/ procurement flow and procedures
  • Communication with Client to agree on Sub-Vendor lists, strategic partners, Commercial Terms and Conditions, Payment agreements
  • Pre-qualification of the vendors and manufacturers both from technical and commercial aspects
  • Preparation of the MSRs ( Material Service Requests), Contact vendors/ sending out the RFQs or RFIs received from technical departments
  • Review of the quotation, arranging the clarification meetings, performing the commercial bid evaluation
  • Commercial discussions with vendors, placing Purchase Orders (POs)
  • Vendors liaison and post PO activities such as: Material expediting, vendor progress monitoring, inspection and test plan check
  • Handling variation orders, review of the non-conformities and related commercial impacts
  • Participating in Internal/External project meetings ( with vendors and clients), update of the procurement progress report and material track registration

For project execution, KCI strongly follows our clients’ requirements and HSE policies. Being a contractor for Shell, Total, Chevron and other well-known clients, our engineers are very well aware of the HSE requirements and are certified for working offshore and on onshore facilities.

The QHSE department will perform audits to ensure the project HSE and quality standards are met. We develop project execution plans which define the risks involved in the execution and determine necessary actions.

Besides the personnel safety, HSE in projects also includes technical and environmental safety requirements.

KCI’s quality management system is built on the principles of the ISO 9001: 2008 standards. An integral part of the system is to create and maintain an effective quality management system based on customer focus, customer satisfaction, process control and continuous improvement. All necessary checks and balances are incorporated in the system in order to meet the customer requirements and applicable laws and regulations.

 

Furthermore with regard to the coming implementation of the new ISO 9001:2015 standard KCI’s quality management system will turn more towards a risk based approach. Our daily performance is monitored by an internal auditing system and process control checks. Customer satisfaction is measured by means of FPAL evaluations.

 

There is a continuous effort made towards improving client satisfaction and the prevention of assignments being accepted that breach KCI’s drive for quality. QA is constantly searching for new opportunities for process improvement in close cooperation with the different disciplines of KCI. SMART defined quality goals are set out, monitored and evaluated throughout the company.
